Join the HBA Young Professionals for a leadership training session with John Sladick, founder of Construction Leadership Training. After nearly five decades in the construction industry, John noticed a problem that showed up on project after project: waste. Wasted time, wasted materials, wasted talent. And in most cases, the cause wasn't a lack of skill. It was a lack of leadership systems. Forgotten tools, unclear responsibilities, poor communication, and weak planning quietly drain productivity and can cost companies thousands of dollars over the life of a job. John created Construction Leadership Training to tackle that problem head-on by teaching practical leadership and management skills at every level of a company. When teams learn to communicate, plan, and lead well, projects run smoother and companies get stronger. Over his 49-year career, John has helped lead successful projects across multifamily housing, public works, medical facilities, churches, schools, and industrial warehouses, with experience spanning jobsite leadership, project management, and team development. He's been married for 40 years, has four kids who have all worked in construction, eight grandchildren, and more than 35 years of involvement in his local church and community.
