Volunteer at PWB BuildCamp and Inspire the Next Generation of Builders Do you have a passion for construction? Would you be willing to carve a little time from your schedule to share your knowledge and skills with young, eager minds? If so, the HBA’s Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) is looking for you! The PWB Council will be hosting BuildCamp this August 5th - 8th, 2024 - a camp offered to all incoming 7th - 10th graders in conjunction with the Salem-Keizer School District where students will be inspired to explore construction by providing them with hands-on experience in building a pre-designed woodworking project. Lunch will be provided to participants.

We are seeking volunteers with construction expertise to guide and assist these students as they embark on this exciting journey. BuildCamp Details: Dates: Monday, August 5th - Thursday, August 8th Location: CTEC (Salem-Keizer Career Technical Education Center) on Portland Rd. 

Participants: Incoming 7th - 10th grade students 

What We Need from You: 1.Expertise: Volunteers should have experience in construction. Your skills will be invaluable in helping students understand the principles of woodworking and proper tool usage, ensuring the success of their projects. 2.Commitment: We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 1 day, through all 5 days would be preferred. The more time you’re available, the better you’re able to form connections with the students and provide consistent guidance throughout their project. 3.Patience and Enthusiasm: Working with students at this age can be both challenging and incredibly rewarding. 

We need volunteers who are patient, understanding and enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring the next generation of builders. Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of these students.
