PWB Panel to Residential Construction

Friday, February 28, 2025 (9:15 AM - 10:45 AM) (PST)

Description

PWB is looking for 8-10 volunteers to be part of a speaking panel to address CTEC students on the topic of career paths and "how we got where we are".  As a part of the informal panel, you will get a chance to speak as much (or as little) as you would like.  The purpose is to, not only, educate the students on some of the different types of jobs a person can have that are part of the home building/remodeling industry (it is not just about the contractors), but to tell our unique stories about all the stepping stones we took to get to where we are.  As a high school aged student, it is a scary thought to feel like you have to have it all figured out - that you have to know exactly what you want to do by the time you graduate.  It is important to learn that some paths are straight and simple while others have twists and turns - not all of our pathways look the same.  We can learn valuable lessons by each steppingstone we choose.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session after panel members share their stories.  Some questions may be directed at a specific panel member, while other questions may be of a broader sense that different panel members can choose to address.  Join us as we help guide the next generation of the home building/remodeling world.

Registration is FREE
- we are looking for 8-10 volunteers per day.  Panel speaking starts at the time listed within this posting - but some of us may show up as early as 8:30 am to get settled.
